The Virgin is presented among a cloud of angels form in a sort of crown, each bearing flowers, while two also bear a lace with a latin inscription: "Pulchra ut luna, electa sicut sol, quasi aurora consurgens" partially hidden inside her vest.
In the lower part of the painting are represented the clients (Fratelli della Compagnia del Pellegrino).
At the back there are the Apostles, some discussing, some looking at the Virgin. The Virgin's grave is open and presents the following inscription: "Utinam effectus superasset affectum- Alexander Allorius Civ. Flor. Ping. A. D. MDCIII".
